After Dayalan Hemlatha fell in the first over, Mooney found Harleen Deol as an able partner and the duo took the Giants over 100 in just 12 overs. While Deol fell five runs short of a half-century, Mooney completed her's in 37 balls. The Australian left-hander kept going and at one point looked set to become the first WPL centurion. However, she got to face just four balls in last thee overs and thus remained stranded at 96 which is a record for the highest individual score in the tournament.
Mooney's masterclass took the Giants to 186 and in reply, Warriorz batting offered a meek surrender. Deandra Dottin picked up two wickets in the opening over of the chase and from there on began the procession of wickets. Kashvee Gautam and Tanuja Kanwar picked up three wickets each as the Giants folded the Warriorz for 105 in 17.1 overs.
The win helps Gujarat Giants rise up the second spot. They now have three wins and three losses and are level on points with Mumbai Indians who have a game in hand.
